Service Projects

MDS has been developing leadership and interpersonal skills for students through a wide variety of opportunities, activities, and resources. MDS provides opportunities for students to be involved outside of the classroom through community service projects and after school activities. The programs range from sports to intramurals to clubs. Sample of Community Service projects involving Pre-K through 12th Grade during the 2009-2010 school year:

• Play Doh Drive for Gillette's Children's Hospital
• Polar Fleece Blanket Donation (students "tied" blankets) for Gillette Children's Hospital
• Humane Society (collection of items needed by the shelter)
• Neighbors, Inc Food Shelf (food drive)
• Feed My Starving Children (students packaged meals to be shipped to third world countries)
• Haiti Relief Drive (funds raised)
• Earth Day clean-up around school and Como Park
