MDS values family involvement. We strive to provide many various educational opportunities for our parents throughout the school year. In addition, we want to keep you informed regarding schedules and policies here at Metro Deaf School. When we work together, your children succeed! There are a number of resources on this website that will enable us to work together!

If your Deaf child attends a different school, and you are curious what Metro Deaf School might offer your child and your family, check out the New Families page. Curious about what is happening at Metro Deaf School? Check out our school calendar for all the latest event information. We want to make sure you are able to communicate with us. Our directory lets you know who is on staff here at Metro Deaf School, their area of focus, and how you can get in contact with them. Metro Deaf School serves both breakfast and lunch during the school day. Here is some information about our menus and how you can sign your child up to receive either breakfast or lunch at MDS. Staff use an online based grading system, which allows you to check in on your child and how he or she is doing in class. Here is some information about accessing your child's grades online. at Metro Deaf School are able to participate in Student Life, an after school program for students of all ages. Deaf School has a Student and Family handbook that contains information about our school that parents and students might find helpful.
Just as we appreciate the support of families here at school, Metro Deaf School wants to support families at home as well. MDS has a variety of Family Education activities that seeks to provide families with skills and resources to use when working with their Deaf children. parents and teachers at Metro Deaf School seek to work together to provide resources an opportunities for the students of Metro Deaf School. Health Insurance Information

  1. If your child does not have health insurance, help may be available.  Minnesota Health Care Programs have free and low-cost health insurance for children and families who qualify.  Income is one factor for qualifying.  Other rules and limits apply.  For more information, call your county office or visit
